I think that award should go the to John Ireland's thread about trading a 996 for a 993. This is a good runner up though.

Sure....Start the car, push the clutch pedal to the floor, set the parking brake, rev the engine to redline, then simultaneously release the parking brake and clutch...Any idiot can do that.

step 3: pull back on both paddles

Lol wow no fun around here. As if doing a burnout is so much worse than donuts which people seem to love.

I would place donuts and burnouts in the same group of stupidity.

I'm sorry to hear you don't like to cut loose a little.

Sorry, but cutting loose to me is finding enough room to bust 150 and keep going until I start to worry and have to put the phone down.

For what it's worth, this isn't the only use I'm interested. It was more out of curiosity, but burnouts are fun. Sorry if you disagree.

I don't think you'll find many supporters for your experiment here. 911's of all types were engineered to handle, steer, stop. I have owned all kinds of vehicles over the years from low 10 second street cars to late model turbo cars. Unfortunately for you, this forum is made up of many that are interested in the engineering of a Porsche vs it's burnout capabilities. However, I'm sure we'd love to see your smoke show video when you "git er done".

I watched my boss attempt to do a burnout in his 996 without apparently turning off traction control, I can still smell the burnt clutch and hear the awful crunching sounds.

You can use a scalpel to cut a beer can in half but why would you want to?

it was just a question since the topic came up between my friends and I and I searched videos and only found power sliding.

We have plenty of other cars to burn tires with.
