What's going on with these seats? I saw a quick blurb somewhere recently about them being illegal for racing and road use. What does this mean for me now that I finally bought and installed a set last year? Any more info as to why these tried and tested seats are now no longer legal? Is there something that needs to be retrofitted to the seats to fix them?
Thanks in advance!

Cracking at front mounting location on seat. Recaro has issued public statement and is working on a fix.

Nobody who actively races a car uses a PP seat. They are good dual purpose seats, I had a pair when I tracked my 964s but if I had a track-only car, it would be outfitted with a halo seat.
It is concerning that these seats have a flaw. Why did it take so long to uncover?

I wonder how recaro will deal with this? Recall? Replace seats? I have also been looking to grab a pair of these. Based on the history of these seats I would buy still a used set.

Question: The 996 Euro GT3 Seats look a lot like Pole Postions and are Recaros, so I suspect they have a similar build. Does this issue extend to these seats as well?

Not cool, especially after what I went through to get the backs painted in Arctic Silver....

It seems this only relates to the racing version of these seats and not the street version ?
From memory there are two versions of these seats (at least in Europe), the street legal version and the FIA (no longer) approved track version.
Someone correct me.
