Default Stolen 993 c2s Los Angeles

So I woke up this morning to the sound of an air cooled engine roaring out of my driveway. I posting this so hopefully forum members can keep a look out if they see this car come up anywhere.

1998 c2S Metallic Black

Stolen from a residential area near. Brentwood Los Angeles

Here's my excited first post when I bought her.

Thanks for any help
Sean

Crap that sucks! Lojack perhaps..? Can't even park your car in your own driveway, did you park it overnight outside your home?

Wow, that's just awful.

As my 993 C4S is my only car, and my girlfriend, whose condo I frequent regularly, also lives in Brentwood, this has me concerned.

Although I can see how someone could tow these cars onto a flatbed and drive them away, I always have a hard time understanding how they can get in, disable the Immobilizer and start them and drive away, as in your case.

Anyway, I'm very sorry for your loss of such a fantastic 993. I can only hope it's recovered quickly and safely.

Good luck

Man,,, so sorry to hear this.
The unfortunate circumstances such as yours crosses my mind lately .... although my coupe is largely in the garage when not running.

Dude, all the very best getting a replacement or the coupe itself.

It seems that immobilizer or not, the 993 seems to be fairly easy to hotwire and steal...

+1...The thieves have seemingly accomplished what no one of RL has been able to accomplish.

I personally would NEVER park my 993 outside overnight but if I was forced to I would pull the DME relay in a heartbeat. I know that doesn't prevent it from getting towed but at least it's a deterent.

Regarding the OP's comment that he heard the noise of his engine, I wonder why he didn't hear the alarm first.

Very sorry to see your post, that is one beautiful 993. I have to agree with Goofball, how in the hell do they disable the immobilizer and get it started? I hope one of the members can chime in and explain how this is done and what mechanical skill level one would have to have to do this. I don't think many rennlisters could even do this let alone in the dark at 2 am. I hope you get your car back, it is just sickening.

How about a shady mechanic, valet, or previous owner with a copied key?

Hope she is recovered soon.
