I don't know if any of you follow the 991 board, but one poor fellow has bought a $120K 911 that has turned out to be a total lemon. It has been in out of service several times for months on end. And still has problems.
If that's not bad enough, the way PCNA has handled this case is even worse. I guess at VW, er, Porsche, they are desperate for bad publicity because they could fix this easily and yet choose to now threaten him if he doesn't bend over and take it.
If the fragile electrics weren't enough to turn you off to buying a new 911, this video probably will. I feel bad for this guy.

Thank you for starting this!
I have been trying to raise awareness but didn't want to start a new thread so that it doesn't get interpreted.
I just want to help this guy and the more people that watch the better!

That's just plain scary. Given the complexity of any modern car, it could happen to anyone. Either way, Porsche should just do the right thing here.
Had a friend buy a certified pre-owned Audi. 9 months later, we found out it had been totaled. VW/Audi wrote a check for the full purchase price and had the car shipped back to the dealership. I can't imagine why they won't buy back this guy's car. Seems like a no-brainer. Maybe there's another side to this story?

GBD,
Thanks for posting.....wow. The 991 owner seems like a cool guy and has kept his sense of humor and his head. I hope P does the right thing and gives him a new car.
His video alone would keep me from buying a 991.

don't they vary by State? I tried going thru that on a 1987 car I owned-Shelby Lancer. That car spent 90, of it's first 120 days in the shop. Car was "theoretically" 1 of 1000, and some spare parts were simply not available. Since it wasn't any re-occouring problem...just a series of new and unique ones...it wasn't that straight forward.
Maybe the Lemon Law's have gotten better since then.
Gotta say one thing, Nick the owner has a great sense of humor. I'm thinking a road trip might need to happen this summer to buy that man a couple of pints.

Wow. I don't even know what to say! I can't imagine that in any capacity. The sad thing is no matter what "replacement" given would I be completely satisfied. Mind blowing. That's grounds for a complete refund AND the opportunity to purchase any new Porsche at PCNA cost (not dealer) if you ask me.
Best of luck to that man.

Wow, based on the problems this guy has had, I am no longer saving up for a 991.
Your post and his video has saved me a lot of money. Yeah for my occasional pain in the *** 993. I have issues with my car, but nothing like what he's having.
