Where are the 993 ground "Straps" located?

Good Morning All,
I'm trying to run down all the grounds in my 993.
The one from the battery to the car is a nice 0GA wire.
I know there's one on the Alternator I need to check
Anything else?

Thanks k722070.
The interior ones I'll get to this year when I redo the interior...
My issue is I put a new battery in, new caps, and rotors yet I noticed the car stumbles my + terminal was loose and it just died(when I was doing the caps) I took it off)...
Now the alternator in the car is new (OEM) as is the voltage regulator since its on the aft end of the alternator...I'm wondering if the ground strap was bad on it..
Also ran down the battery ground strap and I know that that's good since its a nice shiny copper 0GA wire.

When you 'run down' each grounding point, you should
- remove the bolt or nut holding the ground wires,
- clean the post, nut, and each terminal with very fine steel wool,
- reattach very tight
It also wouldn't hurt to get a battery terminal cleaning tool as well and clean them.
These cars are getting to the age when small amounts of oxidation have built up and should be removed.
Any time spent cleaning grounds is time well spent.

I don't know for sure. I'm somewhat embarrassed to admit that!
HOWEVER, I disassembled everything necessary to get to the alternator and diligently removed, cleaned, and firmly reattached every connection.
I had misfires on cylinder 6 w/ CEL P0306. Once I started cleaning grounds, the issue went away and hasn't come back for 10 months.
So I don't mislead you, cleaning the connections at the alternator was not what fixed my P0306 CEL. That was fixed by cleaning one of grounding points I, II, IV, V, X, XIV, and XXI. I don't know which one was the root cause because I cleaned all of these in one session.

Most likely they are referring to XI. But all grounding points should be checked.
Here is a list of the ground points in or around the engine bay.
- XI - ground strap (starter, transmission, engine, body)
- XII - engine compartment rear left
- XIV - engine compartment rear right
- XXI - ground strap for power consumers, connection crank case
You found XIV (rear right). My car is a '97 and I do not have XII (rear left). I'm guessing that you don't have this one either.
Ground point XI is only accessible from underneath the car. The starter is on the right/forward side of the engine.
I accessed mine after putting the car on jack stands. This would probably be easier with a 'real' lift.
From the post that k722070 referenced earlier, here a text description regarding the location for ground point XXI.
The ground for the power consumers camshaft cyl 3 requires removal of the air intake , the duct leading to the aux fan, and the aux fan itself. Then loosen the 'tree' (two 5 mm allen head bolts) that holds several connectors and vacuum tubes to allow access to the 6 mm bolt head just forward of injector 3. Don't be tempted to access this bolt with a 6 mm allen wrench as injector 3 could take a hit with the tool. Access it through the middle of the tree with a 6 mm allen head socket, 3" extension, union, and another 6" extension. This way you are working with a ratchet above the varioram.
