Keeping a eye on the 993 market since I became a owner 5 years ago, Prices have never been higher. Specially up here in Canada, you can't find a clean C2 for under 50K and wide bodys going for 70K and up.

I don't think I could part with my 993 unless for another air cooled Porsche but man is is tempting when prices are so high and 997 prices or so low. Just a random question but do you think with the raise in prices the non 993 die hards will be tempted to sell?

Not at all. For me, the rising prices give me comfort that I can continue to use and enjoy mine regularly without fear of it depreciating into oblivion. 997s are wonderful, but I'm not sure I'd rather have one than my 993....at least not a C2.

Are prices really that high? Maybe just the coupes perhaps?

I just bought my 95 Cabriolet last November with 67k miles for right around $30k.

I would never sell any of my 993s. If they doubled in price I would consider it, but what would one get to be as good of a replacement? I would miss it.

+1. Prices may be climbing, but I'm not certain that they're high. Love to see evidence to refute this.

Sure. I'll sell you mine for $35K, but only because it will need a top end soon. Just rolled over 175,000 miles.

Not sure where you are seeing these prices in Canada? There is only one NB car listed for more than $50K and it is the same overpriced Targa that has been advertised since the summer. Segal had a nice 4S for $59K 2 months ago. The only other WB's have been at Weissach and most were in the $60's.

I've thought about it and I'll see what happens in the spring. There are just too many P cars in my garage right now.

Not tempted unless 996 gt3 prices drop to match the price of my car.

Not tempted to sell the 993 at all. However, I am half-heartedly planning to sell my 997 C2S. It's just a bummer how little it is worth.

But I want a 997.2 GT3 and I don't have the space or use for two 997s

I'm tempted every time I see a 997 GT3 for $80K, but a quick spin in the 993 and it clears that idea right out of my head.
