OT: Becker Monza MP3 player
Finally, an MP3 player with clean, elegant styling and a ROTARY volumne control.
Don't know if the wiring harness will fit our without modification though. Anybody have this mp3 player and want to comment?
Here's a link to more info:

Looks like they are selling over in Europe for about 350 euros ( ~ $420 US ). Any leads on US sources?

One 993 dashboard compatible MP3 player is Blaupunkt Toronto, also from Germany
Black face, rotary control and most important feature in Porsche -- speed sensitive automatic volume compensation.

Thanks Jack.. I'm a bit **** though. The mounting bezel really bothers me on those stereos. I currently have a blaupunkt stereo too and it looks similar to the one you posted. Also the usability of the buttons is pretty bad.
Acutally, I _just_ got a CDR220 to replace my blaupunkt. I was going to have to ditch my blau CD changer since it's not compatible with cdr220 too, so I'd be changer-less. And now I see the Monza?!?!
I can get the best of both worlds! Mp3 compatible so I don't need a changer and a frick'in rotary volumne ****. yahoo!!

A stupid question but how does the automatic speed adjustment work...meaning what does it use to detect the speed? Are our cars wired for it assuming there is a tie-in to the transmission/speedometer?
My MB C280 has it but I don't know how it detects speed.

Thanks for the link. It was mostly marketing fluff though. Although it did make me want it even more.
David:
Check back with me in about a month. I'm really considering the monza now. And after I just ordered the updated faceplate, removal keys, and aux cable from Becker yesterday! DOH!

Jeff,
I've not got the MP3 player, but have a Mexico Pro & can recommend them, well built & just seem to fit in nicely (not too many flashing lights/graphics etc!). If Becker systems are good enough to be the Factory fitment for new Porsche's, Ferrari's & Lambo's then 'nuff said!

David,
It did come with it's own harness which I fitted. However, I'm sure that you'd be able to buy an adaptor from you local ICE shop, or just pay the $50 or so & have someone do the hard work for ya!

Jeff - I am now in Hong Kong but will be back in California sometime in August. If I can help bring one back for you PM me and let m know (I have no idea if they are sold here). Of course the warrantee would be another issue for you to consider.

Thanks David... I've sent some inquiries to a london online car stereo house. We'll see what they say.
Unfortuatnely, I couldn't find any Becker distributors in Hong Kong, but thanks for the offer.
