Try www.continentalimports.com.

They gave me a quote of $625 to $650 plus S&H, special order from Germany.

Jeff,

pm me if I can be of any assistance to you. If you want I can check prices here in Germany. I don't know how much you would have to pay for customs/import tax in the U.S. though.

Just curious...why is the rotary volume control preferred over the other choices?

Just a matter or preference and usability. Have you tried to use a stereo with a rotary **** vs one with pushbutton *****?

I just drove 800km to Germany to buy the Monza! (you probably know that there is no speed limit in Germany ;-) ) I replaced my original CR10 radio without changing the wires. I plugged it in in front of the shop and enjoyed it the way home. It just belongs in the 993 (rotary *****/color/design/diversity tuner).
Btw I payed 479 euro incl 16% salestax for it at www.mediamarket.de

Hey you guys - If you know of a place in the UK that sells this bit of kit then I'm all too happy to get one and let my mate from LA take it back with him on the plane. What do you think?

PM me if you're interested. I have 3 Califiornians coming over at the end of August - they could take one each back if it suits...

cheers

Just got an email from Continental Imports:

Dear Jeffrey W. Chan,

I am selling the Monza. At this time, it is a special order item form Germany,
but I have them on order from Becker of North America. The current cost to you
would be between $650.00 and $700.00 plus shipping and handling to you. The
reason for the range of price is the exchanger rate that changes daily. When I
receive them from Becker of North America, the price will stabilize. If you would
like to place an order for this, just send your information by our Secure form.
Go to https://www.continentalimports.com/miva_entry.html and fill out the
information listed in the form.

I will need to run a deposit for the estimated value of the radio, and when the
unit arrives, will charge or credit the balance of the invoice.

Sincerely,

Scott Brotherton

Unfortuatenly, a little too expensive for me, but I thought I'd relay the info to other rennlisters.

Bump!

Any update on the Becker Monza? Or has anyone found a similar product with the same sort of classy (no dancing bright lights) and MP3?

The monza looks perfect to swap in for the factory unit.

Cheers!

I got tired of waiting and went for one of the Alpine stereo's. It sounds pretty good, but I would love to go back to a more stock look. Any word as MP3 capable is also important.
