Default Singer vs Walker

Both are producing light, old school 911s, for multi-$100k. Which would you have and why? Please discuss.

Singer, no question. I feel like Magnus' are more rat-roddy while Singer's are state of the art perfection.

Well I'd say they are quite different...

Singer's car is around $300,000. And you can only buy it from Singer. It is a more modern car based on a 964 with all the amenities, bells, and whistles (if you so desire).

Walker's car would cost in the $100,000 neighborhood to build and you can build it yourself, technically speaking.

So in my view we are comparing apples to oranges.

If I had a gun to my head I'd go with Singer

Singer's base prices START at $300K! You wouldn't need to hold a gun to my head...just show me da money and I'll plunk down my order. Lead time is way long but surely worth the wait. For a true believer, the Singer is everything a Porsche should be. It's the car Porsche can't build because it's too "old school" for today's "I've got to have the latest and greatest" buyer.

The Singer is everything most of us air cooled guys would want in our ultimate street Porsche (I'd take one over a 918).... and I suspect a group of us could have imagineered the broad brush strokes of the Singer.

But a Walker car is what we would be capable of building in our own garages. Part of that is more satisfying

Closer comparison would be rwb vs walker. Singer is a different league.

two different concepts.

Magnus builts old 911's with old 911 parts and old 911 technology. Old school stuff. Light weight, fuchs, bigger hp motors. Stuff track guys have been doing since time began. His are tasteful, subtle and pure.

Singer builds old 911's with new parts and new technology. Resto-mod if you will.
Take the best of the old and gives it the best of the new for a great combination a user friendly classic.

Singers cost alot to build and buy.
Magnus cars are the typical cost of any custom restoration.

I love the magnus car, but if i had stupid money the Singer is the cherry on top.

As noted, these can't be compared, other than they are 911's.

Singer.

I built a "Walkeresque" 911 already.

I would take a singer engine over the nicest walker car. Both awesome though.
