Great story hoggel! Some can't understand the downgrade from newer models to older ones. With Porsches, though, the reasons are very logical...often passionate.

Generally I keep this to myself, but when we were dating, my wife beat me at racquetball, in fact, to this day, she still routinely kicks my butt in all racquet sports.
She dated a mechanic years prior to me, and drove Lambos, and big Benzs, she had a 65 Mustang in high school, definitely a car chick, she loves driving the 993, so it is really humorous to me that she now has a Prius. She actually loves it, drives the snot out of it and still gets 44mpg.
I remember when a friend of ours bought a 964 cab, tiptronic, OHHH how she told him how un-manly driving an automatic Porsche was...
Hoggel: looks like the wife is rocking some driving shoes....
Not like my wife in the prior pic going with sandals...at least they weren't heels.

I think substantially all the ladies who drive 993s just showed up on this thread.
Outside of this discussion I have never ever seen a girl in a 993 since I set eyes on this car 10 years ago.
As to girls driving Porshces... Boxsters: mostly. Cayennes: almost always. Caymans: sometimes. Watercooled 911s: yes but mostly cabs. Aircooled: I just met them all on this board.
Cheers

Nice article Pablo.
When I bought (sight unseen) my C2S 11 years ago, we were living in NJ. My wife took the train to Boston, picked up the car and drove it home. She still drives it from time to time (sorry, can't locate any pics of her in the captain's seat) but says she prefers driving her A4 Avant automatic in traffic.

From 13 (!) years ago. No photos at hand with Karen + car, so this will have to suffice. Yeah, yeah, it's a 964 C4. 993s were very expensive back then. (No comments about expense/value when I was hammering on that '73S without care in our time trial series--I paid $9K for the thing a year earlier, and maybe I had another $3K of parts into it to make it track ready.)

^^^^ Oh yeah, that Porsche suit. Was a friend's who got it from her connections at the factory. Thought she'd roll out with a nearly new '99 996 and show everyone the what's what. Lasted about two events before we never saw her again on track.

PS: the P- cars listed in my signature in green were mine all mine. All were TIPS. Robert and I had long ago decided that I am the most uncoordinated female in the world and maybe the Planet! Seriously scary uncoordinated, as if the information about what my right hand is doing with the stick can not be transmitted thru my brain and then to my left foot. I can do it, but it's not smooth nor pretty. So I don't and won't..... unless I have to. HOWEVER, I do a fantastic TIP Blip (Ask Robert and he'll tell you, smooth as butter , oh and he calls me lead foot too). AND unless there is a ton of traffic, I won't leave it in D. Stop and go L.A.? You bet, I'll cheat and put that puppy in D. Sometimes even I am allowed to be a total lazy weenie.
Ken and Karen are Great! Another pair met to be together.

Nice to see you had a 944 in your collection JoAnne. That was my wife's first Porsche, she still loves it. It looks as if you and my wife got the same helping of elegance and sophistication doled out when Momma nature created the pair of you.
Rock on!

Ladies drive 911's in the NC ...
... this one since the mid-80's, the targa being her 4th (2nd 993) ...
and if it's okay to sneak in a 912, this green one is owned by a lady in her late 60's, a car that was featured in Excellence early this year ... and she drove it with enthusiasm ...
