You keep raising the bar on me and my little VW. It's getting harder and harder to just keep up with you guys

Ilko- great choice with the split grille. I ditched my giant wing in favor of the classic painted tail with retractable lid.

WOW.. Didn't see that coming, but not surprised at all.

Really thought you had sworn off the AC cars.

I like classic lines of the 993 NA. No RS kit unless genuine RS or aero kit(functionality?)

Phase 1: Demolition.

The wing is off:

And so is the aftermarket stereo. Somebody completely butchered the wiring but I was able to put the pieces back together and now I have a nice CDR-210 in there. Not that I'll ever turn it on, but it is period-correct and more importantly, listed as an option on the car.

The plan for the 993 now is to upgrade it with OEM parts that are on the option sticker as well as pieces available to order as options from the factory and Tequipment parts from that time. Man, I'm starting to sound like I'm on the Early 911 S Registry... So far the only pieces that were not available for these cars are the exhaust and 3-spoke 996 steering wheel. Both of which are essential for proper enjoyment of the vehicle

More updates to come in a couple of weeks or so.

Man, look at the crap that accumulated under the wing ... I hope that'll buff out
So, ... about the 3-spoke ... IIRC, they were available through exclusive in late '97 and on ...

Yeah, I'll try to buff it out but the deck lid may need a respray... Which is fine since the paint on the car is not original.

Great news about the 3-spoker, I feel so much better now

[QUOTE=ilko;10710018]Moving along...

Looks like I'm the new owner of these shiny hollow spokes. They'll be off to Wheel Collision on Monday...

To de-chrome?

I'm not at all surprised you came back. What the heck, you're just the 74,000th person who has sold and regretted. But 4 1/2 mos, that's quick!

Last but not least, congrats! Nice, nice find!!

Time for a quick update... I've been having too much fun in the car (already put over 1000 miles on it) to take pictures. I took the Aerokit tail off and put on a split grille.

But after spending a little time with it I decided that I'm not a fan of the split grille on a narrow body. It looked great on a wide body and my old C4S had it. Maybe I got spoiled by that.

So I had the option of putting a regular black grille, or since I now have the right wheels, might as well go for the RS Komfortpaket look.

So this is what the car looked like a couple of weeks ago...

I'm glad you took off those crappy MY02's.

Let me know when you take off those crappy Speedlines too.

The car looks great.

That's a perfect look for that car.
