All - thanks for the kind words & the welcome. I am in NJ.

I will provide PPI results and "before" pictures tomorrow.

I plan to spend the weekend detailing the car, so I will post some after pics too.

Hey Fatmike from NJ - Welcome to the 911 (993) fold, they're great classic yet modern enough sport cars.
Live with the car a little while and you'll be hooked. My wife's MY00 Boxster for 8 years was parked next to my 993 and every now and then I'd take it for the day. A nice sports car (freak'in great dynamic's) with fond memories the Boxster! - But we don't miss it.

Again,,, welcome to the 993 forum -

P.S. I'd encourage a membership purchase.

P.S.S. This thread is useless without PIC'S !

P.S.S.S. Being an old Jersey boy myself... "what exit?" My family lived in River Vale (last exit #172 north on the Garden State Parkway) from 1961 to 2011 - the folks just sold that house of 50 years... Hey you can see the Real Estate ad: one owner house... sounds much like a 993 ad.

So, I got my PPI done. Some good news, some bad news, some really bad news and a somewhat crazy result...

The good:
I have a mostly original 993, with two prior owners. I have 13 years of maintenance records. The car has original paint that is in good condition (some stone chips, but overall it's very good). The steering feel is tight. The suspension is in good shape. Brakes are newer and have proper feel. It's an unusual color (Aventurine Green) which I like a lot. And it's a Targa (my preference). Interior is in excellent shape and all of the systems work (AC, roof, etc.).

The bad:
The car needs tires. There are a few oil leaks including what might be the plastic valve cover. There is a torn CV boot and a leak in the transmission seal. None of those things are that surprising. I will also have to do all of the usual maintenance to get caught up (fluids, filters, etc.).

The Really Bad:
I've driven the car a few hundred miles, and the check engine light came on. Sure enough, it's a 208 error (Secondary Air Injection).

The Crazy Result:

I am keeping the car. The seller agreed to split the cost (up to $1000) on the SAI repair. I figure I found an unspoiled car that is the color I want, and it's a Targa (which I prefer). I could look a long time, and not find a car like this again. Yep, it's going to cost me some money -- but I did know that going in...

So the adventure begins.

Some pictures of the PPI.

Before I got on the lift. There were a few other 993 and SC's around. There was a 356 on the lift.

I'm a cyclist. I'm only "fat" by road bike standards.

Interior pic. More to follow once I shine her up.

Also, I am noticing how hard it is to capture the color in pictures. I will work on that too.
