They really are a great power plant. The stock block will handle 400whp all day and can be found in almost any part of the country for $100

The vr6 dry weighs 374lbs. I see the LS1 and chevy 350 swaps and those are like 500lb from what i read but you never see videos of anything but a straight line with those cars.

Maybe only after doing the headgasket and the timing guides/tensioners. With stock worn internals 400whp will do some damage in no time. I owned a Corrado VR6 for 10+ years so I'm quite familiar with them.

But if you do blow it then yeah, a short trip to a junk yard and you have another one.

Sorry, meant stock as in stock internals. If the guides/tensioners aren't making noise, no need to replace them but yes a head gasket and studs will handle 400. Ive had vr6 turbos for the last 10 years so im pretty familiar myself

The camo theme is quite popular among MkII GTI owners.

Love it. Can't wait to see it done! Subscribed for updates.

Have to admit, that after my own 964, the VR is one of my favorite sounding engines.

and an interior you surely wont think it has in it when you walk up to it. still need to get seats, center console done. headliner and pillars were all mint so no need to mess with those.

Are you going with that same diamond pattern on the seat inserts? Can't wait to see more pictures.

Sounds awesome!! Definite similarities to a flax six GT3 at idle. Glad to see that you got her together.
