Default CCU part needed

I need a switch from a CCU, the one located at the far left, that has the two snowflake pushbuttons. Anyone have this switch, or a spare CCU (even a dead one), that they want to sell?

Thanks

The last time i asked my Porsche dealer about parts for the CCU he told me the only parts available are the 2 *****.

If you damage the switch you are asking about or break the plastic push piece with the snow flake on them you will have no ac!

A new CCU is about $2000.

Hi x50type,

Do you have the switch shown in the picture, with the lower button missing? I may be able to get by just by replacing the broken upper **** on the switch I have...

Regret, i don't have a spare switch and as mentioned, both the switch complete and the button only are NLA.

Here's the switch, etc.

You are a brave man to take that switch apart, with all the little springs and barbells. I hope you got it all back together okay.

Ha. Ha, Ha................agree.

The parts are really tiny and if a spring or barbell is lost the switch will not work - and you have no a/c.

My switch was working intermittently but after cleaning it works as it should.

All CCU parts are available and in stock in the USA except for the Fan Switch **** which is showing in stock in Germany and can quick-shipped for $11.75USD... (I don't think I have the correct part number for the 993 dual HVAC switch?) No comment about the outrageousness of the prices other than these (from Sunset Imports) are way better than MSRP. The switches themselves can be fixed easily except for the faces.

944-653-205-00-01C Slide **** $12.60
964-659-146-00-01C Fan Switch **** $77.10 - Germany
944-653-208-00-01C Temperature Switch **** $16.94
944-653-922-00 A/C Switch $72.61
944-653-921-00 Defroster/Recirculation Switch $133.11
964-659-945-00 Face Plate – superseded to 993-659-147-00-1DB $26.29
964-659-148-00 Sensor Fan $208.50

Thanks, Jason! The one part I am still trying to find is the 993 dual snowflake switch that sits in the far left position in the CCU. It doesn't even show up on the parts diagrams.

A bad dual snowflake switch with good buttons would be extremely appreciated--my switch is good but the big snowflake button is broken.

I'm still looking and hoping...

My Porsche parts guys tells me 944-653-922-00 is not the 2 part a/c switch for the 993 which is NLA, it is a single a/c switch with no hurricane mode for earlier Porsches.

The 944-653-921-00 is not the 2 part defroster/recirc switch for the 993 which is NLA, it is a single switch for the recirc only.

There is no separate small switch cover with snow flakes available. [see photo].

The 944 parts appear to be the same size as 993 parts and might or might not turn on the a/c and recirc. There might be no defroster or it might be on always!

I will leave others to experiment.

The 944 switch prices are about as quoted.

Did your parts guy give you a part number for the 993 switches (i'm also unable to find them...) that he checked the inventory levels for? The way PAG handles inventory, almost nothing is ever truly NLA.

Jason

No part number can be found and although there are numbers on the back of this Hella switch they are the pin numbers not a part number.

My parts guy says the 993 switch part number has not been in the PET for some time but would be on a 1994/8 microfiche but his fiche reader and fiches were flooded and destroyed in Katrina, and without a part number it is not possible to check with Porsche in Germany to see if there is a few switches laying around in the warehouse [which is quite possible]. Now, whether or not Porsche AG would play ball is a different story.

However all is not lost - someone on Ebay [# 190878978486] has a reconditioned 993 CCU for only $2592.50 with free shipping.

Now which one should I get? -- the recon for $2592.50 or the OE one from my Porsche dealer for around $1700.......................decisions, decisions, decisions.

maybe my logic is somewhat flawed here, but if one can still purchase a replacement (new) 993 CCU doesn't that mean they still make/have the two (2) snowflake buttons?!?!?!
