Before going through the trouble of removing the dirty decal, I'll try the cleaners or solvents mentioned in this thread, so thank you.

My DS one came off relatively easy with a little heat and then some 3M adhesive remover to get the last of the residue. The PS one was cracked and beat to hell and insisted on only coming off in 1/8"x1/8" chunks so I reached out to a friend who does a lot of commercial and automotive vinyl and he recommend this.

ABN Rubber Eraser Wheel with Drill Adapter 1-Pack – Pinstripe, Double Sided Adhesive, Vinyl Decal, Graphics Removal Tool - - Amazon.com ABN Rubber Eraser Wheel with Drill Adapter 1-Pack – Pinstripe, Double Sided Adhesive, Vinyl Decal, Graphics Removal Tool - - Amazon.com

I parked the car out in the sun, let it warm up a bit and then went to town. Once I found the drill speed that worked best, it started to fly off. It made a huge mess of eraser shavings but it took me maybe an hour to get most of the PS vinyl off and then a few minutes after that with some adhesive remover to get it all cleaned up.

Before picture.

No after picture as the car is heading in for paint correction here next week and then new guards from FD will be installed.

You may be able to find something larger but not sure how it will look.

I'd check with a good body shop in your area that does 911/classic work. Many have templates and cut their own. When I had my car restored last year, the wrapped the whole front and custom-cut the stone guards- they are a perfect fit and totally invisible.

Great idea. I want to go bigger to cover the whole strike zone of the hip flare. The stock pattern is really just a nice gesture. It's a slippery slope now to wrapping the whole car in clear stone guard

WD40, a plastic razor and time worked well for me. Then went to a clearbra installer near me and had new ones put on for a $100. A little over a year later and they still look great

I recently did this, steam and 3M adhesive remover. It’s a messy job but worth it. Mine were cracked and completely degraded.

How long did you steam for before peeling?

Much adhesive residue left on the paint after peeling?

Body shop that did my cowl rust fix says they have seen this turn in to a real nightmare from time to time. Their recommendation was to replace them every four or five years to prevent that from happening. I had my local PPF guy redo mine a couple of months ago so that I can start following that recommendation. They charged me $60 to remove/replace inc. the film. Did it in my garage. I tipped heavily.

Seems reasonable, referring to timing. I'm curious to try it myself, maybe I just want to buy a steamer? Haha.
