If memory serves me correct 964 covers are NLA from Porsche.
The main reason to use 964 covers is that they have a hole for the cruise control lever. The RS cover does not.

Could you post some pictures of both the process and the result? I'd love to see it!

This is a great write-up with some good photos. I actually printed this out and had it in the car with me when I was doing my swap.

Installed the Momo SW today. This is the first part of an interior makeover. Center console is out, stereo wiring is getting fixed back to stock, lower dash is out.

I wired in a resistor for the airbag and the light is not on. I am trying to sort out the horn. It is not working. This is a common theme in all the threads I read so I am going to go back and make sure all my wiring is correct.

Here are a few crappy cellphone pics. Please excuse the total mess in the cockpit. Wires everywhere.

The mess:

Out with the old:

You'll need 964 L-pad for the horn to work.

I have it installed. I think my issue is the wiring at the horn itself.

If it is not that, I will take it all apart and redo the wiring.

Did you add the pin+wire to the correct position in the connector?

Yeah I did that but I am going to go back to it tomorrow, cut out the old connector and solder in a fresh piece and reconnect it all.

What I am actually confused about is the wiring on the horn itself. The Momo adapter hub has one black wire which I assume is the power wire. The Momo button(that came with the set up) has one spade on the back. No other wire or connector.

The Porsche crest horn I am using has two wires coming off the back plate of the horn(one yellow and one black). I have tried various connection combinations to see if I can get the horn to sound and it won't. And yes I do have the 964 horn contact part that contacts the brass ring on the underside of the hub. I checked that and the contact is being made.

I spent many hours out in the car today so I am kind of fried. I will be fresh tomorrow and have another go at it.

If you're using a momo hub, the horn contact doesn't line up w/ the 964 'L-pad' contact:

I agree with tosi. I had the same problem. You will need to gently bend the brass of the 964 part to align with the brass ring on the hub and touch it just in the right way. It is a very finicky trial and error process to get just right but I think if your horn worked before you got into this, that is the cause.

It's actually a ground wire. If you touch that wire directly to ground you should get the horns to honk. In some Momo horn buttons you have one contact and when you push the button the button itself makes contact with a ground (usually a ground ring provided with button).

Some have the two wires and one connects to your loose wire and the other connects to a ground of some sort. You pushing the button closes the circuit in the button and completes the circuit needed to power the horn relay.
