I've looked at previous threads regarding 993 basket handles. My 1996 cabriolet (production date 1/23/96) has the basket handle. Question is: when were basket handles used? Would appreciate any and all information regarding. Thanks.

 

I think all cabs have the basket handle, as there is no spot for the higher lights above the rear window on a cab.

They came on the 95 coupes as well.

Only early coupes I believe.

 

Consensus seems to be early build "95's (late 1994 through mid 1995) had basket handles and no immobilzer; handle deleted and immobilzer added middle of 1995, though not sure anyone knows exact date; some mid 95's had basket handle and immobilzer.

Curious if any 95's had no handle or immobilzer, anyone?

Mine is a mid 95 with handle and immobilizer.

 

Mine C4 was a 95 with immobilizer and basket handle.

Also ALL Targa's come with the basket handle.

 

My '95 coupe is a March build. It has the immobilizer and no basket handle from the factory.

My late 97 RIP, had the basket handle.
