Thanks for the input. Keep em coming!

I can't really justify the cost of a turbo so that is not being considered.

As nine9six says, it may boil down to how much the wallet can stomach. I would still like to hear other opinions

There are a few out there.

Can't decide? Do both! Put the widebody on the left, it might help in the lateral balance of the car. You'll need a custom rear bumper cover though.

Haw har har hawr.

Take care!

The difference in width is just about 1.5" per side between the NB and WB. You and your budget will decide which to buy and of course what selection of cars are available to you at that time. I ws fortnate to find the C2S that I wanted about 5 years ago. Good Luck!

I ended up with a NB and cab. When I was looking, my only restriction was that I wanted a 993. I've never looked back and have been extremely happy. I think it boils down to what trips your trigger.

Check out this CLASSIC thread: https://rennlist.com/forums/993-foru...fat-asses.html

And I also don't like the tail on the 993TT. The retractable spoiler gives the rear end a very classy look.

Only YOU can decide if the wide body is worth the premium. It's a purely cosmetic choice and the driving experience is the same. Nothing against the narrow body cars, which still have nice wide hips and are gorgeous, but if you have the means why wouldn't you get a wide body?

Buy the best 993 you can afford.

I too think the higher value cars will appreciate in time, but likely all 993's will, eventually. If that's a consideration.

Lately I'm finding that I love the TT tail on a black or otherwise dark (very dark) colored TT, but on silver or the lighter colors, I'm still not a fan.

Ducktail in any color = love.

Enjoy the hunt and be sure to make a thread when you find the car (and don't forget the photos!)

why wouldn't you get a wide body
because the standard 993 Coupé is a lighter, better looking car with better aerodynamics.

well...depending upon your budget, the question of which might be moot. That being said, you can spend $50K on a low-mid mileage NB, or $40K on a hi mile WB.

Add in preferred color choices, mileage, options, etc...and the question of WB vs NB almost is irrelevant. It's a personal choice really, with lots of variables.

How do you expect to use the car...driver or garage queen?

Prefer more common colors-Black, Silver, Red, White...or do the more unusual colors really excite you?

Look back a couple of weeks ago to rennlister Opo selling his beautiful Turquoise Blue/Black C2. A rare color combo like that, might just make a fella who wanted a WB to jump. There isn't a shortage of cars in the marketplace to choose from, just a shortage of well cared for, fairly priced, and documented ones.

Get the cash ready, search multiple times a day, and act fast when a good one comes up.

Good Luck

I'm very happy with my narrow body C4. Couldn't justify an extra $10k for 3 more inches that add nothing to the driving experience.

I specifically wanted a c2 with no options. I think it looks and drives more balanced. The grip in less in the rear so you can play with it more. I do like the S cars too, especially with some nice 18". But I just love the 993 in the most basic form.

Like most other suggested, just get the best one you can find. If you can't really decide, then you must like all of them. I wouldn't worry about what year they are either. For any 15+ year old cars, they will all need some extra TLC. It's a driver's car and not an investment
