For all you 1:18 collectors out there, a handful of models from various manufacturers have made it to the prototype stage:

Autoart 1:18 993 NB Coupe (Scale18.com) Silver, Red, Riviera, and some sort of green have been announced.
Otto Models / GT Spirit 1:18 993 CS
Schuco 1:18 993 Turbo (?????unknown)

Still think the UT looks better than the AutoArt. I mean wait, no, I have that backwards - UT's aren't very good, give them to me!

Otto is coming out with lots of cool stuff (evilmike @ modelcarforum.de). More of the 3.8 RSR (DiecastSociety.com - and note their logo!). GT Spirit / Otto has announced a 964 Speedster as well.

Maybe available in the next year I would guess, but maybe longer.

Take care,

A concern with Otto seems to be QC, or lack thereof. There E39 M5 was riddled with cars arriving with various stages of damage, not all of which would have been caused in shipping.

That said, it is encouraging to hear of new models coming out! And thanks for the heads-up!

Sure thing! I'll see if I can find the pictures. Edit: pics linked in previous post.

Didn't know about the Otto QC. I would like one of their Audi S2s though. Speaking of S2s, they're releasing a 944 S2 cabrio as well!

Cactus - would you sell any of your UTs?

Take care,

Although its fine on my desk at work, I should mention the 993 cab Bburago model I ordered doesn't look quite right. The wheel size and placement are off.

These are some from my collection of long discontinued radio controlled
1/10th and 1/12th scale Porsches that I've restored or built from kits. The Taisan Starcard as well as the Rothman's 959 is from Tamiya, while the Martini Porsche is a 73 RSR made most recently by HPI.

Excellent 993 RS models. For a moment, I thought the cars were real.

awesome detail everywhere...everywhere but the wheels. They look too flat, not enough definition.

I wonder how much that would cost. Agreed with Magdaddy, the wheel does not have enough curves.
