Trying to decide whether to go with the ExtremeContact DW from Tirerack - the price is good even with airfreight to New Zealand. But I note they're not N-rated and am wondering if they'll have good stiff sidewalls compared to N-rated tyres?
The Michelin PS2s are half as much again as the DWs nearly, but I've had the Michelin PS2s on two different quattro Audis and I know they're very good tyres.
I'm replacing Hankooks which are not worn out yet, but I'm going to put them aside and maybe put them on another set of wheels sometime.
Any comments are welcome.

I have had the Conti DW for three years now...no problems...good tread wear...quite...and handle nicely in the dry or wet.
Tire Rack rated them better than the PS2.

Search the threads...everybody has a point of view but for me they are very good value.
As to the Porsche N rating which offers some additional testing by Porsche and in theory some differences in construction for the same tire model that is not n rated Conti DW is Z rated for speed...unless you are going to drive long distance on the Autobahn or track the car you will never approach the tires true limits.

Before I bought the Hankooks I saw a lot of comments on here regarding the sidewalls and indeed this tuned out to be the case - so I wanted to avoid this issue with the next set of tyres I buy. The reason I bought the Hankooks is that was the only set of tyres I could buy locally that could match the set all around the car with the staggered F/R sizes. I guess NZ is too small to justify importing the oddball 993 sizes in the major "premium" brands.
But with importing from Tirerack I have a much better selection.

I run these on my winter wheels and like them. No issues with sidewalls. I probably have about 4k miles on this set and have no complaints.
I know others, including Steve W, have spoken well of them too.

Note that the PS2 is rated above the DW contrary to the previous post
Also the PS2 and EVO 12 outsell the other brands by a significant ratio

I have the DWS and dislike them. The sidewall stiffness is a problem and makes for a wiggly rear end. My tire guy says the DW is better. But I will be returning to the Michelins.
