OT: What is a 1988 M3 (E30) worth?
I know someone with a white over black E30 M3 with less than 50k miles. Pristine, unmodified. He may sell the car to me but am out of touch with current values. Any opinions on worth?

In that condition and mileage, $25-$30K. "Dogs" with high mileage are going for $12-15K. If it were up to Euro EVO specs, $30-$35K. This model is a "rock star" in BMW circles and has held its value well above other contemporaries. If kept in comparable condition with reasonable mileage, there's very little downside.

Unmolested and low mileage? Heck of a find.
I would agree with the above gentlemen. Close to $30,000 and, assuming it doesn't need substantially every wear item replaced, worth every penny.

There's a local one (white/black) with a salvage title and 100k on it going for $10k
I saw a red/tan one with 4k miles on it in immaculate condition a few years ago for $47k. I'd imagine the one in question is going to be somewhere in the middle of those two: Around $27,500. But there are a few E30 M3 experts on this board, and I'm not one of them.

I've owned a handful of these cars over the years. I sold my Zinno red one two years ago for 20k. It has 120k miles and was in great condition. It also sold within a day of listing the car and for asking price. My guess is the Apline Weiss one you're talking about should fetch 30k. Crazy since they cost that brand new back in 1988

It's an icon. Like a 930 (clearly iconic, as well), an E30 M3 can be all over the map, depending entirely on condition ...which given these many years passed will clearly vary widely. So a "prsitine and unmodified" M3 (again, like a 930, or long-hood 911, or whatever this special) is likely to fetch some good coin. If all checks out, I would see 30k or north as reasonable. (did I just say "reasonable"?? ...sheesh!! )

If it truly is PRISTINE closer to $40k. With that being said very, very few are truly pristine. So more likely mid $30's. Check out Enthusiast Auto Group in OH. They have a fair corner on the market, although there cars seem a little overstated to me most of the time.
