The part list is a compendious one to show that factory and retrofit engine kits do not have exact identical parts as they explain in the paragraph before the list comparison.
part numbers 993.100.903.00/04 include DME, ported heads, wider valves, plastic trumpets, etc. (basically M64/20 parts) like the M64/22 S kit

The vram intakes were on
M64/20 the RS, M64/21 manual trans RoW(OBD1) engine, M64/22 tip trans RoW(OBD1) engine,
M64/23 is US(OBD2 w/ SAI)) manual trans. M64/24 is US(OBD2 w/ SAI)) tip trans
The non vram were on
M64/05 manual trans RoW(OBD1) engine, M64/06 tip trans RoW(OBD1) engine, M64/07 US(OBD1 w/ SAI)) manual trans. M64/08 US(OBD1 w/ SAI)) tip trans
the intake trumpets are incompatible between vram and non-vram there were basic differences in sizing and material between the /20(RS) and other vram intakes as well
there is a more complete kit for vrams that costs ~$16k US which includes;*pistons and cylinders,*o-rings,*cylinder heads,intake valves*,*exhaust valves,*camshafts,*intake connections,sealing rings,*intake manifolds,*control unit,*mufflers,*resistor, pulley, wheel hub. these cyls have the 109mm bases which require boring the case, the cylinder base gaskets are larger and require a groove in the case wall be machined in as well. The parts are all plain RS stuff.

I asked a simple question about info you claimed was present, it was/is not.
Just a further comment at the risk of offending your tender sensibilities

I posted some info about the kit you may have been referring to and would welcome info about it but there is no need to get up on your high horse about this.

All the info for you, even from the factory, is claimed
your questions are always simple, but don't try to take me for granted.
I brought the material, to share it .
You ask for more proof as if I handle after-sale services at porsche.
Well the porsche part number of the 3.8 liter kit, 993.100.903.00/04 is on document.
Can't you call your dealer and ask him the details of the part number ?

It is not a question of sensibility but rather decency is required, maybe I have the material and I don't want to share it .
I won't share DME material for example, x51 non-vram DME or any other
so keep cool

George, thanks for further info on the mysterious X-51 option. I've been curious about the motor option since reading about it in Christophorus and Auto Motor und Sport in late 94. Other than those two articles, there isn't much info out there. Cars do pop up from time to time with the elusive X-51 on the options sticker but it doesn't seem to get much attention.

X51 kit for M64/21-
part number 000 044 100 00 (no retrofit anymore, designation part number falls in repair kit cat.)

Thanks Geolab for the M64.05 non-Varioram engine power kit. It used to be listed along with the M64.21 Varioram engine power kit in the Tequipment catalog. The power was shown there as well as parts list however I wondered about the other details.
Clearly from the statement about the "Exhaust Values" being the same and no DME part number shows that the standard DME was used for the M64.05 kit and the stock DME will work with 3.8 liters and RS cams.

Tequipment part numbers for the 1996 and later Varioram engine Powerkit, part number 000.044.100.00 is/was available from Porsche at a list price of $20,691.91 a year ago. This is the kit with DME, heads, cams, manifold etc.
For non-Varioram cars Powerkit part numbers 993.100.903.00 and for A/C cars it is 993.100.904.00 (crank pulley different to drive A/C) are NLA from Porsche.

I went and installed an old PET to check the M64.05 S kit, and it states what the document details.
No DME no heads.
Anyway, maybe it is so, but what made me think that both kits had as many parts is that:
1-Job 15 70 20 76 talks about changing heads and valves.
2-DME coding of the M64.05 S 2Pin in the above DME doc. is different than the regular engine. But maybe both DME's are the same, I do not know
3-Price of the 993.100.903.00 and the 000 044 100 00 was 10000 and 10800 euros respectively in 2002, so not that big difference.
I will look into it further and will ask for documents
all in good health

Here is a document that for the X51 engine kit with tiptronic gearbox, a conversion to the X51 needs the tiptronic DME reprogrammed.
