The two things are clutch, as mentioned earlier, and valve guides. If it has not had guides done yet, decent chance they will have some significant wear in the next 20-30k. The good news? If you take the motor out to do clutch, that's a great time to do guides. Bad news is that it can cost you many thousands of hard earned American dollars (or German supported Euros, depending on where you live).
Common wear items would be shocks also. Cab tops are replacement items, but that has been done.

Speedyellow993, I don't think he is trying to install a drive block, just a remote door opener. I think the drive block on the 96-98 models controls not only the locking and unlocking of the doors, but controls the alarm an ability to start the car.
95's do rock indeed and I don't have to have the clutch depressed to start my car.

Must say I hadn't seen this neat keyless kit. It's got a nice looking remote too. On my list as well now.
I'd say motor mounts might be tired by now as well as other things they have mentioned.

Consider it fortunate the car does not have the troublesome immobilzer (drive-block), which was phased into mid 95 production cars.
In addition to the other good advice make sure the HVAC system is working well. Various expensive servos are prone to fail, and occasionally the CCU (climate control unit) will fail. Somewhere around $500 per servo (5, I think), about same to rebuild CCU.
There are threads about trouble with the AC system and related costs.
It's all worth the maintenance costs in my opinion, nothing quite like a 993 driver.

Keyless entry is only $85 for an early 993. +you don't have any immobilizer or stupid SAI issues to deal with.
The only major downside is the stalling issue if you decide to install a low weight flywheel, and the odd shopping cart handle which I don't really mind.
I greatly enjoy mine.

If the car has been well cared for, it should only need basic tune up, that is coming up at 90kmi, the spark plug wires and distributor belt might need to be added to the list.
These cars are super reliable and drive incredible. The key is to find one that was loved and maintenance was taken care of on a regular basis.

I have 82k on my 97. The PO did much of the needed maintenance including top, plug wires, suspension and several cosmetic items like door gaskets etc.. I have pretty much just driven it and done basic oil changes etc... My flywheel is starting to rattle when I shut her down - so a clutch/flywheel is in the near future. Also looking at replacing control arm bushings and installing a goldenrod - merely opportunities to do mods. A high mileage car with good maintenance is probably a better car than a garage queen.

A good PPI with compression and leak down if possible is always money well spent in my view. In addition to the items mentioned above, the hydraulic lifters are a common replacement item by this mileage as well. I have 60k on my '95 and recently replaced all 12 with solod lifters to address ticking noises that luckily were not valve guide related. I also recommend keeping the top in manual operation given the dual motor issue with '95 cabs. It truly is one of the finest vehicles ever made and provides a driving experience that is highly addictive.
