I lusted after them before getting my 993. Now I realize that what I like the most is a well balanced sports car. If I ever get around to having a 3rd car then I'll consider a classic or hot rod but until then...will hold off.
I do like the Nomads too, though. Not my 1st choice but they're pretty cool.

my trouble when playing with either muscle cars or hot rods is i try and change the driving experience... inevitably towards more of a precise sports car - its a) futile b) loses the point of the car in the first place c) easier to just buy a sports car if thats what i want.. I will end up with a 68 camero at some point, maybe a plymouth GTX and an old bronco.. ugh a slow friday full of dreams again.

The only reason I'd get a hot rod would be for summer cruises and family drives etc. but I suppose how much would I use it really? Hmmm...
I've had many friends who have owned Impala's, Nova's etc. so have been subjected to American muscle for a while. Its becoming all the rage here in Dubai but nonetheless its a pure cruise kind of thing and not sports car related at all. Hence why I'd be keeping the 993...

Nope, but if I did, it would be an oldie in original condition.
If I had the space, I'd have a few 63-67 Corvettes, a '70 LT1 Corvette, a 60s Camaro, a 60s Mustang, a 70s Dodge Challenger. You get the idea.

Love them. I've owned 3 Mustangs - 2 '66s and a '68. Mine were what I'd consider Pony cars and not muscle. I would still love to have a nice '69 Camaro in the garage at some point.
The reason I have a 911 is that it's more refined. I can drive it in traffic and not feel like I'm going to have trouble stopping. I also don't worry about driving the car in the rain - although I don't like to.
I know you can take muscle cars and make them stop, corner, etc. just like a modern car, but it does take the right person to do it. And I just don't have a shop like that near me.
