What makes a car a hot rod? I think of a hot rod as an older car with 'updated stuff'. What is a hot rod to you?
If there was a like button for pics here on the list I'd like most of the cars and truck in this thread. Love the hot rod Porsches! Make mine a 9M RS.

Hot Rods, muscle cars, sports cars, exotics, trucks, big-rigs...........there's good, bad, pretty, and ugly in everything. If my numbers ever come up, I'll need one hell of a garage.

SEMA is a great place to see some rods to lust after:
This one by Rad Rods by Troy. It looks awesome in person

This one will actually run at Bonneville!

And one of my all time favs from SEMA a couple years ago

This could be say anything from a 911 with Recaro bucket seats to a 32 Ford with a Chevy V8.
Once the car is changed it is on the Hot Rod road IMHO, it is just a matter of degree.

FWIW, the FFR Daytona's, GTM's and Cobra's are considered in the hobby as lower-end replicas. And I'm sure there will be some FFR owners who will take exception with alot of pride, but that is the prevailing opinion amongst the specially-constructed car (kit car) crowd.
If you're really interested, then see ClubCobra, GT40s and/or FFCars.com for more info.

There are plenty of folks who have built FFR Daytona's and Cobra's. Not sure about their '33's. Haven't seen many of them posted.

big difference in a 250 hour build and a 1500 hour build.
The kits are fiberglass and i have yet to see any fiberglass bodies decent to work on including real vintage vettes.
FFR kit is one of the only kits that are all go as much as show. You can run them on the track and competitively too.
Other kits out there handle like an 88' oldmobile cutlass.
If doing a Cobra, i would suggest a Continuation or Kirkham. If budget is less, try a Superformance. If budget is less again, do FFR. Contemporary are decent but dated.
All else is junk and run from them if you ever see one.
