Embarrassing That I Don't Know This But...
Guys, I'm embarrassed to say that I've owned my 993 for 10 years but I honestly don't know if it has a limited slip differential. What is the easiest way of determining this?

I have a photocopy of the original bill of sale but the code number for each option is chopped off. There is one option that is described as "Pass Traction"; it was an $1,840 option. Could this be the LSD? Last two digits of the option code are 08.

I would also like to know if mine does. I read somewhere that the C4S does come with a rear limited slip. True? Not sure and the car is away for the winter so I can't do the test below.

Okay, the interweb is ridiculously useful. Found an option decoder:

I have a locking differential. "Option 220" on a 1995 993. But is this what was on offer or was there a true limited slip differential available?
You have to love Porsche. Other options include:
454: Automatic speed control
Cruise control optional on a $90,000 car (in 1994!).
Thanks guys for kickstarting my lazy *** to look myself.

Cruise control was not optional, AFAIK. At least I have not seem a 993 without it.
As far as LSD - the LSD came with ABD - automatic brake differential. you should have a light on your dashboard (in the clock if memory serves me) for ABD. If it's there, the car has LSD as well.
