I have the "Script" on mine built 12/97. I've seen some guys paint or polish the raised letters. I've not done either.

How do you explain the fact that all RS(95'-96') cars came with the scripted version?

The RS varioram manifold is different than the "standard" varioram manifold.

They wouldn't have changed it at all. My GMC Typhoon says "Syclone" on the intake manifold if that's a clue.

How is the RS VRAM different from the reg.VRAM? The reg.VRAM intake has the special mounting holes used by the RS and factory supplyed 3.8 cars.I have called around and am told there is No difference between the top casting for the RS vs. Reg. 993's.

The runners have a larger bore diameter to match the 46mm intake ports in the RS cylinder heads.

Not that they needed to be, but that's another story entirely....

I've always thought the center flat spot on the intake cried out for some branding of some sort. Like they had something planned but never implemented. Porsched logo might be a little too cheesey but looks like it's missing a label or something.

... Oh ... and I wasn't lyin' when I said ... I have seen today with my very own eye's .. a 7/95 build car with a Varioram script manifold with 3K original miles on it!

Here's an RS manifold .. looks like some subtle physical differences on the outside as well ..

v.s. stock production

I do find the lack of a capital V disheartening.

During the final pre-production checkout of the Boxster, Porsche discovered "a harsh and annoying rattle" (aka. resonance problem @ 2,250 rpm) with the intake manifold. Dupont and Mark IV (they designed and produced the intake manifold) discovered the buzzing/vibration came from right under the SCH In the PORSCHE logo. So they had to change the molds...

Does this mean all the 993s with Billy Boats the issue was the intake manifold with Varioram script?
