Tell me what you are seeing. The top casting, Vram is cast in three parts, with the script or without is identical on both RS and Reg. 993's. I thought Colin's word would be good enough for even you.

I have a Sept 95 build C2. It has a Varioram engine but no scripting (note I used a capital V)

Interesting article (for people with good eyes):
http://varioram.blogspot.dk/2009/02/varioram_26.html

Wikipedia seems to think it's spelled VarioRam... I wonder what the patent says?

The entire casting along the edges .. especially the center plennum, looks much rounder suggesting a different mold, in this case, probably the first since the RS cars were the first recipients. I knew about the internal differences from previous RS discussions here and reading in Streather's book ... and of course, Colin knows it from experience.

There are no "internal differences" reguarding the VRAM in Streather's book. Please take the time to read "Engine types" (pg.145-151)and tell me where Streather references any differences in the casting of the VRAM pendulum. He does not.On page 165 he notes the different "jet pump" part, but that has nothing to do with the VRAM internals.

Yep ... I read it awhile back, you're right, he doesn't mention any specifics, at least not what I can find .. so I guess we'll have to rely on Colin's expertise and the subtle visual external differences.

In addition to the differences described by Colin, the RS manifold has a provision for mounting the knock sensor plug for the right bank of the engine. The casting is there on the standard manifold, but there's no hole. There's a pic in my sig which shows what I'm describing.
