Nice! Thanks for posting these Colin!
The last setup would be really nice! How durable would the engine be with such a configuration? Was anything else changed than pistons? Different cams, bigger valves?
Will the gearbox handle that amount of torque?
btw, It looks like I'll be doing a track test on sunday, that is if the weather clears up.

The 964 piston is a real heavyweight item with a very thick intruder (crown) which allows you to machine it down easily to reduce the compression and is idealy suited to high hp boosted applications. We have in fact seen well over 500hp from a turbocharged 964 engine with nothing more than 8.5:1 machined pistons, rod bolts & valve springs, hence you don't have to work hard with these engines to find the performance. The 993 piston and rod are not over-engineered like the 964 but there is enough meat on the top to trim the comp slightly and if you have a late 993 engine you share the same bottom end as the 993GT2 so it's not all bad.
The G50 gearboxes are notoriously strong and commonly used in the Ultima kit cars which run small and large block V8's with anything up to 1000hp, so my take is that as long as the smooth torque take up of the supercharged 911 engine prevents shock loading of the gears you will be more than good to go.
Enjoy your trackday, I'll look forward to seeing any of the data you manage to acquire.
