Default DDM LED running lights....question

So I got the DDM HID kit last week and installed it this weekend....they are great...what an improvement!! I also ordered some of the B9 LEDs to replace the running lights so they would match the new headlights a little better. Anyway, took out the driver side running light, threw in the LED and nothing. I tried the other LED to make sure there wasnt a defect and still nothing. I didnt even attempt the other side because I figured something was wrong. Did I get the wrong bulb? Or is there something in the wiring that I have to do both sides before the LEDs will work? If anyone has done this with the running lights (and fogs if applicable), can you please include a link to what you got....thanks!

I bought Gert's HL kit and running lights. The running lights were just plug n play-no wiring involved. I've heard too many tales about bad components from DDM to not look at whether you got two bad bulbs.

I can't remember, just north of $100, another $16 or so for the running lights. I know he's more, but I've not read of a problem with his, and HL's are pretty critical. The ebay and DDM cheapies seem to be a crapshoot, as I know some have had no issues.

Hmm, I wonder if I got bad LEDs because they plug right in...but nothing happens.

I don't know-could be the problem. If you're sure you got a good connection and didn't accidentally pull any wires too hard. As I said, mine plugged right in. Less than 10 minutes/side to remove the lenses, clean some of the accumulated pebbles that got their way in there, plug in, and reassemble.

I bought some cheap ones on Ebay and they didn't work at first. It turned out the polarity was reversed and some simple mod corrected the problem.

^^^Exactly what I was thinking. Easy to test with a multimeter as well, just hook up the leads to the bulb ....one way is an open and flip the leads should be a low resistance. Or use the beeping continuity test mode on the multimeter.

Possibly the LED bulb could have been made backwards ... or it was made that way for some other application and the bulb base happened to also fit our car (and was never tested...) I'm guessing made backwards....

It's definately the polarity. Problem is, you can't just turn around the bulb as the little tabs are coded in the mount. You'll have to resolder the led within the socket. Whoever manufactured it didn't pay attention to plus and minus.

take a small File and file off the two tabs and tilt the plug 180*
