I have ordered some VW stuff from ECS with great service but agree that their shipping prices need a readjustment. ECS...are you listening?

We are listening, and we are looking into future additional shipping avenues.

Ordered a couple of very small gun parts not too long ago (not from ECS...), shipping costs more than double the parts costs. Could have been put in a standard envelope but were sent in a padded UPS bag that could have held 50 of those parts. I realize vendors want to keep their shipping as simple as possible but sometimes it is a little ridiculous.

I'm not using any S/S fasteners on my car. A) the strength thing. B) I get enough maintenance practice with disimilar metals on the boat.

Yep. Galvanic corrosion. Anytime 2 dissimilar metals are placed in contact, add moisture, and they WILL oxidize.
BTW, it's called stainless because it stains LESS. It still corrodes, just not as fast...
