A very good friend of mine's wife just had a Double Mastectomy two days ago... She is only 41 years old... I was also just a pallbearer on Wednesday for a good friend's Mom who died of Ovarian cancer... I spend a lot of time praying for friends these days. Sadness abounds... Thoughts and prayers to Chuck's family. Life is short for all of us... But, far too short for many!

My cousin's sis in law had her Double M two days ago too. She is doing great. so great that she only had two drains and they can come out as soon as 3 - 6 days. They did have to remove more skin than they anticipated (tumor adhered to her skin in one spot) and she still has to have Chemo (and maybe radiation), but she is doing really good. I'm super proud of her. She still has a way to go, but I know she will be fine when this is all behind her.

I'm so sorry to hear about your Mothers friend, like you said, sadness abounds lately. This stuff is everywhere......

I got a few more donations. THANK YOU and Hugs. You know who you are .

This cancer thing effects all of use at one time or another. Whether it is a friend, co-worker, family member or yourself. These foundations do a great service.

Thanks for doing this JoAnne.

I found this thread on the middle of page four! We can't have that!

Where are you at percentage wise on your goal?

Thanks for the bump Chuck.

I'm at $5,999.00 with a goal of $9,993.56 That's 56% of the way there.

I've got a ways to go to my goal. I think there are 61 or 62 days till the event. Next weekend is the big kick off here in town. Every day Little Rock turns a little more 'pink' and on the night before the race the Bank of America building lights up with a huge pink ribbon on all four sides. It's pretty cool. I sort of proud of this little city. It's the forth largest walk in the nation. Last year 44,000+ walked. It was a wee bit crowded.

Thank you Jager and Mrs. Jager. I finally put it on again now that they are done and have 'settled', and it's a little tight, okay, ALOT tight, But that is a VERY GOOD thing in this case!!! At least I could get it on for one picture. Wholeeeee Cow..... Tight.

The ribbons should twirl

No donations in the last couple of days, but that is okay. There is still time.

Y'know those broadcasts that say, "do not adjust your set"

Well, I have a 2D screen.
Ever since you posted, it's suddenly become 3D

My first donation from Across the Pond!!! Thank you <secret>. You have no idea how much that warms my heart that folks from other lands care enough to help.

Loved the note you sent too:

Dear JoAnne,
As promised.... 9.64 litres of 98RON unleaded ;-)
Kind regards, <Secret>

Every dollar helps me get to the $9,993.56 I set as my goal. THANK YOU.
