26 days till the race.
I got this in the mail today. When I opened the package and saw the contents for the first time, I was taken a little aback. It was like getting hit in the face with a wet noodle, a light punch in the gut, a big WHOA......... It's ME...... Of course its me, I do see myself every morning..... Still.....

Think of all of the inspiration you now bring to this event! A year ago, you were just a "civilian participant", what a difference a few weeks made in your life!

You know, it was just a few weeks later.....
I am happy and more than blessed in more ways than one. Still, every once in a while, you really REMEMBER, and those are the times that can still sort of bring on a tear or two. Sometimes I try to be an uber female, and it's good to be brought down a peg or two.

Well ... you said "I'm stuck" in a boobies thread. I giggled thinking of you doing a dance in pasties with tassels hanging off. Lol! And now I am blushing.

I'd have no problem with the pasties actually sticking on me

9 days till the race....
I Just got a call from a close friend. Literally 10 minutes ago. She just 'got the call' about her biopsy. She has breast cancer. The good news is that she has DCIS and it is non evasive, just like mine was, so she will be okay. Hers is much bigger though (she has felt it FOR YEARS) so she has a decision to make depending on the margins the surgeons think they can get etc. She is a very strong women and isn't afraid at all. She sad her first thought was, 'I could feel this lump for 20 years.' Nothing was ever done about it until this year when she went for her baseline. She continued 'You mean I've been walking around with cancer in me for that long?' Who really knows......
What is going on??? Is this stuff (for a lack of a better word) everywhere??? She's in her late 30's. Birth control pills? Food? Water??? grrrrrr.......... Who knows????
