Default Anyone seen the new 2013 Boxster?

Made a mistake and stopped by the Porsche dealer today. Man, the new Boxster looks nice! The dealer had a 2013 black Boxster S in their showroom. Pretty much loaded except sport seats. I think the sport seats offer much better support. It had a MSRP of $80K+ (wow)!

Here is the link: (looks much better in person, I like how the shape of the taillights blend into the rear spoiler)

I am thinking for getting into a four-seater, but after seeing this car, I might be stuck with another 2-seater. What a dilenma!

What's with the automatics being pushed now? I cant get past that. Its a different audience being courted now. Back to my cave.

My neighbor is waiting on delivery of a Basalt Black Boxster with a good 'ol fashioned 6-speed. The car looks spectacular in pictures and I'm sure looks even better in person. Pics coming as soon as it arrives in a couple weeks and he becomes a newly-minted P-car owner (his first) and RL'er. It will be fun having my old school 993 and his new school 987 running around the neighborhood!

The new Boxster looks great. Have not driven one yet.

A buddy of mine ordered one optioned just the way he wanted it with a Sept. build. We went to an "unveiling" at the dealer about two weeks ago. They had a white one and it was beautiful. He's 6'3" and had plenty of leg room and about 1 1/2" headroom to spare. They hit a home run with this one IMHO.

Great car. But for 80 large, I think I would rather go buy the Toyota MR2 instead...

I went to the dealer unveiling two weeks ago, too. Great looking car, nice interior. What I did not like, however, is the sense of an elongated dashboard in front of me and seeing more hood than I am accustomed to in my 993. In my 993, it is a more intimate feeling, and the hood slopes down in such a way that I see only road in front of me. Maybe my height of 6'4" is too blame, I don't know, but that's the sense I had, right or wrong. Keep 993.

I had a similar reaction when I sat in one of them. I'm only 5'10" and I felt the car was huge, like I was wearing an XXL where I normal wear a Medium. Gorgeous car inside and out, though.

We checked the new Boxster out a couple weeks ago. Very impressive. What blew us away is when Rob turned the key on.....sounded like Fister IIIs. Growled, barked and snapped! More like a GT3RS than a Boxster!

I had an 11 year affair with two Boxsters but am glad to be back with my roots.

local dealer has a very similarily eqpt'd Boxster in stock. The salesman started it up while we were in the showroom. My impressions of the exhaust were similar also. Besides the Boxster, they also had a 2013 Carrera S-both slush box's-ummmm, PDK, sorry. Carrera was $111K, Boxster was just over $80K.

BOTH cars seemed huge compared to out 993's.

Sorry, but neither do anything for me.

80k seems insane. I feel if it were 70k they wouldn't be able to keep these at the dealer.

Paid $67K for mine back in 2006. $80K seems reasonable now 7 year later.
