Yes, you're absolutely right. Some things don't change.

Congrats on the 993 though, what a beautiful car. GTR is blah in my book.
I agree with you - I graduated last year, bought my car with my first bonus. Paid a shade under thirty - although I have some maintenance upcoming within the next 4-6 weeks: new clutch (RS clutch and LWFW kit) and tires (probably MPSS all around). A fortuitous set of circumstances afforded me this opportunity: No student loans, good job with NYC salary but living in the south, cheap parking at home and work, live close to work so can walk when car is down for a few days getting clutch, no emissions testing for me, etc.

Bought mine when I was 23, now 24. I love the 993 cause it's a true enthusiast's car. People who know about them will know why you bought one.

I also love the uniqueness of it, especially the air cooled engine. Don't know if I'll keep this one forever, however, I always plan on having a 993.

52. Bought my first Porsche, a '75 911 Targa as a project car in 07. Finished it and seen my first 993 at a local meet and said that's the car for me. Bought mine two weeks later.

35. Purchased the car at age 33. Wanted one since they came out when I was in college! Just wish I could add that 05 996 GT3 listed in the for sale forum (no affiliation)!

32 here, don't currently have a 993, but I'm looking. My first P-car was a 928S at 17. Good Times, looking ahead at great times. I used to/still dream of 993's ever since I was a child.

Bought my first Porsche when I was 25; still have it, but restoring it is a project in (slow) motion. Bought my next one (993) last year at 49 and am really liking it. At this rate, I'm looking forward to getting my 918 in 2034!
