It's going to sound great, love driving a car with that exhaust. Though I don't have experiance with it mounted to bypass pipes.

Startup IS quite loud...but after the car warms up (Or your hearing is destroyed) there really is not too many better sounds. Hope you like them.

Im not scared ,as my 911SC screams with SSI heat exchangers hooked up to a 2 in 2 out M&K exhaust. It has the most intoxicating sound on a car I have ever herd.Old ladies run and children hide when I roll through. So I kind of wanted something similar with the 993,after all its a sports car!

I ran Supercups with old school Fabspeed cat bypass pipes and the sound was incredible, but don't even consider it if you drive the car on the street. Way too loud.

I'm running Fabspeed Supercups with a DACH X cat bypass, and my car is crazy loud. Inside is not too bad since all of the sound is blasting out behind you, but, still, I do wear light ear plugs whenever I drive it for extended periods. If you happen to be standing behind the car and the the engine is revving or at full throttle, you will sustain hearing damage. At Rennlist fun runs, I've had a few people say that they could not follow me since the noise and exhaust fumes were too overbearing. This can be useful for tailgaters.

If my car were not a full-on race car, I would not run this set up but would opt for a sport cat and a Fister II or III.

I have fabspeed x pipes but with the cats in place and a pair of supercups for my cab.
the sound is lotsa fun, have even had people pull up next to me to tell me how great it sounds pulling away from lights and stops signs and such.
but, I can handle a month or so then have to put the fabspeed maxflows back on just to have some quiet.
using the cats there is quite a bit of drone at 3000 rpms, every where else sounds great.
I'd be interested to hear if you get any drone without the cats.

It will be bl@@dy loud! I tried some similar pipes with my sports cats and it sounded amazing but it was so loud and also I got resonance. Having said that, sports cats plus RSRs equals very loud as well. Does sound good though. ;-)

Cheers,

David

Calvin... Difference between Supercups with and without cats, is HUGE!

I used to have supercups with cat bypass and with baffles fully stuffed (my supecups were the old type), it was sort of semi, not really, bearable...

Without baffles... At idle, I'd trigger at least 20 car alarms around me in the garage...

Loved the sound at track but even if you don't consider the noise as an issue, I got tired of that V8 sound those pipes produce. I wanted higher, more sportscar, rather than muscle car, sound and eventually went otherwise.

just got em on tonight will have before and after vid/sound clips up in the next day or so.Its is very V8 ish sounding but fun.Not sure I will keep on long but fun for now.

By the way,i weighed the B&Bmufflers and Fabspeed Supercups.B&B mufflers w/tips right at 15lbs each ,supercups 7lbs each,so saved 16lbs total.

I cant remember exact weights of the stock x pipe compared to fabspeed, but with x pipe/no cats, think I saved 24lbs there also.

So its close to a 40lb savings according to my scale.Thats along with better exhaust flow combines to make a difference, even in seat of the pants feeling.
