Just wave your retractable magnetic wand down below in the engine area, and I'm sure it'll show up.

If they get too close to the Mobius, they sometimes melt.

I'll admit, over oiling, or improper oiling of a K&N is a bad thing. I moved from Omaha, NE to SoCal in 2002 and started the trip with a freshly cleaned and oiled K&N on my 1998 E36 M3. Shortly after arriving in Cali, my car would not idle for crap, it would wildly hunt for idle and eventually stall. Ran fine at speed though. After searching the interwebz (which wasn't as full of info as it is now) I came to the conclusion that I had gummed up my idle control valve. After changing the valve all was fine. Having said all of that, I did buy my 993 eight years ago with a K&N installed and still use that same K&N today (track/street). I learned that the filter should only be oiled on the outside surface and not on the inside at all (obvious on a cone filter but not on a flat panel filter) and only oiled until it just turns pink, not dripping blood red.

yeah, even with a new filter, you should wrap it in newspaper to let the oil seep out a bit and definitely after re-oiling. I ended up pouring the filter oil into a finer mist sprayer in order to coat the filter while using less oil.

Mine is dripping with oil inside and out! That explains the crappy idling!

I have a K&N that I installed for about 100 miles. Everyone here warned me against it and I removed it. Application was a 96 C4S, should be the same as yours.

Part number for clips on motor sound filter cover? I've looked at suncoast and pelican and there was nothing! Will these work? They look the same. http://www.autohausaz.com/search/pro...rm=13719071752

If you have that much oil on it, I'd get some CRC MAF cleaner, pull the MAF and clean it.
