Default Air filter?

Where can I find the K&N air filter my 1998 C2S has? I've been looking everywhere, but I can't seem to find the right 1. I have the sport exhaust package from factory on it if that matters.

Just Google "K&N Air Filter Porsche 993". They're all over the place.

I would not bother. No added power, danger to maf...stick with the stock paper filter

That doesn't make it a good choice. Quadcammer is right.

K&N's are washable, cleanable, dryable, reoilable, just like newable.

K&N let too much silt in etc. Stock is the only way, remember if they where truly better wouldn't Porsche be using them from the factory?

Correct.

And my UOA's are excellent and support OEM.

yeah, and given that most people over oil the **** out of them when they clean them, and then end up having to replace the maf, that cost savings disappears fast.

not to mention, a stock filter is $20ish, the K&N is like $60ish. It would take 45k miles to make up the price difference, and even then, the K&N simply does not filter as well.

There is simply no point to these filters unless you cant run a stocker for some reason.

And a MAF for the Turbo is VERY EXPENSIVE. Just had mine replaced in early May, along with some other pro-active maintenance (namely LVC&G, plugs). IIRC, the part alone is over $500.

You can get the Bosch part (i.e. not in a Porsche box) for $380 shipped:

http://www.autohausaz.com/search/pro...0Mass%20Sensor

NA is cheaper at $300, but still
