Default materials used for 993 interior?

I am still new to 993s and am wondering what materials are used in our interiors. For example, is the headliner leather? What about the dash and door panels? Some plastic is used for sure but with the age of the materials I am just not sure what is what anymore.

I would like to go a bit deeper with detailing the car but need to know what materials I am working with first. Any help would be appreciated.

It depends on the options your car has. Most have the standard interior = lots of vinyl , pretty much everything is some sort of vinyl except the front seat tops. The leather trim optioned cars are much nicer.

Full leather option (very rare, but standard on turbos) -- pretty much everything is leather-covered.

Standard interior -- everything but the seating surfaces of the seats is vinyl. Alas.

Thanks for the replies.

This would explain the rather shiny appearance of a Lexol treated test patch on what turns out to be "leatherette" vinyl. I'm glad I didn't Lexol anymore.

On other news, it was a wonderful drive this morning--perfect weather, low traffic and twisty country roads. Getting used to a 993 is getting used to a very skilled dance partner. It sure has been fun!

For what its worth...
I ordered a MY98 993C2S in early May, '97 with a production date in August '97 with the Full Leather option in addition to full electric heated hardback sport seats. Everything is black leather with exception to the rear seat faces... there vinyl or the like. The rear seat backs are turned down 99% of the time.....

Yep, very misleading the full leather seat options!

We were talking about the 993 Turbo. The rear seats of the turbos All came with full leather seating. This includes the rear seats on US spec. 993 Turbos. I have owned five of them ,excluding my current Turbo because it has RSD option, they all came with leather rear seats.

OK, ROW turbos do not have leather rear seats as standard, I thought this was covered last year and the US ones were the same?

FWIW, on a standard 993 (non-turbo), everything is vinyl except that leather is used on (a) the seat tops, and (b) the top trip piece of the door panels. And steering wheel & shift boot.

In all the 993's I've driven, sat in, owned, etc, I've never seen leather anywhere on the door panels or trim, except with the full leather option. You sure?

My 993TT had rear leather seats, but it also had the supple leather option, so that may have made a difference.
