The more I drive it the better it goes - they just become very brittle sitting in the garage.

Every day I can put the roof down, which in Houston is about 2/3 of the time.

I've been using a 911 as a daily driver since 2004. First a 996, now a 993 cab (which I prefer greatly). Before that it was the garage queen approach to Porsche ownership but I reassessed life. Who was I saving the car for? My replacement who hadnt earned it?
The rest of the stable are garage queens as their value goes up each year better than my portfolio
Life is too short not to enjoy it each day in a 911. Its a my big stress reliever on a 36 mile drive home. And oh ya, I clean out the injectors each morning too with the so-called Italian tune up!

My 993 is definately a DD.

I used to be the "garage queen" kind of owner. Until I crashed my ultra rare Lancia Integrale Evo on my way to a concours, it was the cleanest car wreck ever. But looking back I should have driven it much more.

Garage Queen, usually blocked in by my daughter's car. Turbo much easier to get out. BMW easiest option.

I was under the possibly mistaken impression that the purpose of owning a car is to drive it. So, I do. To work, to drop off or pick up the kids -- yes, even to the liquor store. Short drives. Long drives. It is my one and only car (the wife has her one and only car, too).

I liked the threads where folks say we shouldn't take our cars on short drives, as it is bad for the car. Well, I expect my car to be subject to wear and tear and if it is slightly more accelerated because of it's status as a daily driver, so be it. Will the motor last only 175k instead of 200k? Seriously, I change my oil so frequently short drives don't mean more wear. They mean more fun.

Nearly a DD for me. I have only had it for a couple of weeks now. However, I am driving the 993 much more frequently than the 997.1 which I kept in the garage too much. If it is raining hard or traffic is out of control I will take the bimmer.

It's a car. Cars, especially Porsches, we're made to drive. You are missing out on the essence of the marque by letting it rot in a garage.

DD for 10 years, facilitated by spare wheels with snow tires for the winter. Miles are accumulating more slowly now that I work from home but the odo is nearing 89k.
