Bert
I don't think one is "better" than the other though I personally prefer the looks and proportions of a NB.

However, Bert, I believe you are the one who has it backwards. The WB was created to fit the turbo engine. Porsche didn't have NBs and WBs laying around and "chose" to put the turbo engine in the WB to create the TT. C2Ss and C4Ss came about because Porsche had a lot of extra turbo wide bodies laying around and decided to put them on C2 and C4(with turbo brakes and suspension) drivetrains.

I believe educating Porsche enthusiasts is what the community is primarily about.I am not looking to make new friends or go on outings. We are here to talk and learn about the 993. All aspects.
The C2S is a wide-body C2... if you want the running gear of a C2 with the widebody look, you buy a C2S - It's that simple. Everything else is just opinion. (Unless you want to get into drag coefficients and positives v. negatives of a slightly wider rear wheelbase for track handling - both of which Porsche presumably evaluated when adopting it for the Turbo & 4S.)

Publishing an opinion does not make it fact.

Posting a published opinion does not make it truth.

You claim to be just amusing yourself in one post while claiming you are trying to educate in another post.

You are either insincere or ignorant.

I amuse myself by educating you and antagonize you.
I am both insincere and ignorant.

All of the quotes are taken from GT Purely Porsche 2002 to 2005.
Somehow I'm missing the reason for the abuse you're getting... Ok, so you said "hype" and everyone took it as BAD, undeserved hype. Whatever....and hardly a full on Troll.

I think its pretty funny that the writers are complaining about 30kg in a 3000lb+ car. They can detect a ~2% weight change? And the BS about suspension geometry being so different....they were feeling 17" vs 18" tires if anything. BUT, if you've got to write an interesting article, taking a polarizing view is surely going to generate some interest, fervor, or dare I say hype and get eyes to the page.

Why, I think I hear a song coming on!

The bigger the cushion, the sweeter the pushin'
That's what I said
The looser the waistband, the deeper the quicksand
Or so I have read

My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo
I'd like to sink her with my pink torpedo

Big bottom, big bottom
Talk about bum cakes, my girl's got 'em
Big bottom drive me out of my mind
How could I leave this behind?

I met her on Monday, 'twas my lucky bun day
You know what I mean
I love her each weekday, each velvety cheek day
You know what I mean

My love gun's loaded and she's in my sights
Big game is waiting there inside her tights, yeah

Big bottom, big bottom
Talk about mud flaps, my girl's got 'em
Big bottom drive me out of my mind
How could I leave this behind?

My baby fits me like a flesh tuxedo
I'd like to sink her with my pink torpedo

Big bottom, big bottom
Talk about bum cakes, my girl's got 'em
Big bottom drive me out of my mind
How could I leave this behind?

Thankyouverymuch.

I would like to retract my earlier "you're" and insert "your" in its place. Too much going on at work to proof read! Anyway, you can talk numbers and differences all you want but for the type of enjoyment I get out of my 993 the variations hardly matter.

It's the British magazine way, doesn't everyone realize that? (Sadly, it also overtook what was automotive journalism here 10-15 years ago.)

I forget exactly when I first subscribed to one of the British Porsche magazines, but it became instantly clear that they existed in this "the car as 100% stock" world quoting statistic-this and statistic-that. Even for models like longhoods that were about 20 years old. As a stock 911 was an anomaly to the cars rolling through my shops, I just sort of dismissed it all as needing to fill blank space so they could justify charging for running the ads.

He was labeled a Troll because he came right out and said he wanted to start a heated discussion to amuse himself. If that's not a Troll, what is?

I only regret having bothered to post on this thread at all... must be a slow day for all of us.
