Default What will be the ideal offset for 11" wheels on narrow body 993?

Front will be 8.5" ET50 which should fit right. What is the best offset for 11" wheels on narrow body 993 without rubbing?

I think you will want something in the ET58-65 area, and even then you will probably want to roll the fenders if using 295s or certain brands of 285 tires. Front ET50 is a no-nonsense fit, although my cars currently have 8.5"ET45 and 9"ET40 with rolled fenders.

I would also say something between ET60-ET63.

Check out the 11in Gamballa rear rims on EBay. He claims they will fit a NB 993 and the offset is 62.

So I think 11" ET60 rear are aggressive enough yet to cause rubbing issue? Thanks for inputs!

I'd approach this sort of fitment very cautiously and do trial fitment before purchasing anything

10 ET65 is the factory fitment and works at most any ride height, you can jsut barely fit a 285/30x18 tire after rolling the lips. Here is a comparison of some other widths and o/s's, remember that the ET65 10 w/ 62mm of front space and 192mm of backspace barely fits at low ride heights.

Even if the lips are trimmed rolled or otherwise modified then hard limit is the inner wall of the chassis, these cars are not symmetric and I have cionsistantly seen the least inner clearance on the passenger side where the 10 ET65 w/ 265 tire has very little clearance, ~ .25" you cannot intrude much further inboard unless you tub the wheel well.

good luck w/ this and do let us all know how you made out

Thanks Bill for in depth analysis. With 19"x 11" wheels, it should run 285/30/19 tires. I understand it will depends on brands of tires for clearance. Go from 10" ET65 to 11" ET60, the outter position will extend an extra 18mm. Base on your calculation, it will require some camber and fender lip roll to fit. Should I stay with 11" ET67? I'm looking at the most aggressive offset without require -2 degree camber and fender lip roll.

NB and WB front fenders are the same. On my cab the fronts are 9"ET40 Gemballas (they list an option for ET52 which doesn't require rolling fenders); previously the fronts were 8.5"ET46 which are now on Father of 3's car when I swapped to the 9" wheels (which were on another RL's turbo previously) - we rolled his fenders slightly although there was decent clearance. On the TT the fronts are 8.5" Techarts.

From looking at Gemballa's site it looks like they offer the wheels in a "fender rolling required" configuration as well as a non-nonsense fit application.

I'd say that you can't use 11" wheels on a n/b 993 at all. I suppose some guys run at high ride heights and so don't have an issue because they don't care how far the wheel sticks out but I'd rather have a low car with wheel that fits in the wheel wells.

As I said I see cars at the track as low as can be run. 285/30x18 just barely fits on these cars on a 10x18 ET65, that's w/ typically high track setup camber setting and after the lips have been clearanced by either rolling or trimming, particularly on the drivers side. The inner clearance is negligable, particularly on the passenger side.

The 993 Cups never used 10" ET65 or 10"ET61(the latter give a little more inboard clearance at the expense of lip clearance ) w/285/645 x18 tires. To use 11's they added 2" flares. W/ the RSR flares they used 9.5ET38 and 11" ET40 wheels.

Quick Reply: What will be the ideal offset for 11" wheels on narrow body 993?
