My Porsche story
Ok, first of all, sorry for my bad English...
So, how did it come to this? I spend at least one hour in front of the computer every evening looking for inspiration. My wife loves our Porsche but cant quite understand the passion I have for the Stuttgart brand.
It all began in 1989 when the 964 arrived, it was something new and cought my attention.
But the 964 wasnt perfect, something was missing, then in 1991 they introduced the 965. Just loved the wheels!!!
In early 1992 they lanched the 964 RS (european model) and it all fell together, i was hooked...
Then in 1994 the 993 was lanched, I was disapointed, it looked totaly wrong...
One year later my disapointment came to an end, the 993 RS turned my life around, I must have a 993!
But it took 15 years for me to buy my first Porsche, in 2010 I bought a Pastellgelb Boxster 1997. I loved the Boxster and it was a perfect first Porsche.
But in april 2011 I went to my local Porsche dealer to buy some stuff to the cab on the Boxster and there it was.
I bought it almost the same day, it was perfect. A low km, M030 car with compleet history. Then disaster struck...
I lost connection between my brain and my right fot I guess... It could have been a lot worse, the first thing that went through my mind was, "f....king h....ll", but then I realised that I didnt take someone with me in the tirewall. No one got hurt, only my pride... It turned out that the damages was limited to bodywork all thanks to the realitivy low speed inpact (20-30 km/h).
The only possitive thing was that I was forced to do the planed repaint of the car a few years earlyer than expected. Now the car looks and feels brand new, I bought a set of MY02's that I think is the perfect wheel for the 993.
During this winter I have fitted a H&R chassi, it's a different car and I love the way it drives. The look is also perfect, I almost have a 993 RS...

Interesting story Jonas. Thankfully, the repair on your 993 looks excellent and as good as new. I've just bought my first 993, having owned a few 996s and 997s before. The 993 is certainly a different experience to the newer cars - not better or worse, just different and I'm enjoying every moment!

Cool story! I agree that the MY02's look nice on the narrow bodied cars.

Hi
I enjoyed reading your story. For me my love affair with the 911 started many years ago when I sat in one at a wedding reception and the owner said "start her up and drive round the car park, I bet you stall it" So I started the car and promptly stalled her trying to pull away. The view of the torpedo tubes, the feeling of the engine behind you and the "differentness" of the car really struck me. I have loved them ever since.
I had never really looked twice at them before that.
