- Look for a black frameless plate holder (rubber/plastic material), can be found at your local Wal-Mart etc for cheap. These frames have a full backing where you slide your plate into.
- Trimmed it down to fit my cut plate.
- Drill 8 holes (4 pairs) in the frame backing, basically looking to tie down each corner. Measure this up so you tie down to the grilles.
- Get some long zip ties, as your going to use 4 zip ties to secure the plate holder to the grille close to all 4 corners.
- You'll need long zip ties since you'll be zip tieing the frame loosely first to the grille, just to secure initially. Then slide your plate into the frame, from here this is where the long zip ties come in, as you'll be begin to pull towards you the zip ties. Towards the end it helps if you can attempt to pull as if you were behind the plate holder for the extra last zip.
- Plate frame should snug in tight against the grille with the ties fully zipped up.
I chose 4 zip ties vs 2 (from Mike J) just to ensure it doesn't move, since he could pull tight from the front. Obviously if we could drop the bumper it would be so much easier to zip tie from behind. So far so good for me!
Hope that explanation works, sorry didn't take any actual pics.

I have been doing this for years (my NB also had a Turbo bumper), works great since the plate is still there, but its not visible from the side. However, its not 100% legal, cutting the plate may be illegal (depending on where you live), and the visibility of the plate is not 100% so that might not be legal. That being said, I have not been stopped once doing this (knock on wood - now I have done it!!)
Baron cut the plate, I have also seen it done folded...
Cheers,
Mike

Speaking of bump, have any of you guys mounted a bump steer gauge, and measured what's actually happening through the range of wheel travel? While it's nothing more than a minor annoyance (especially when masked by power steering) on the street, on the limit it can make things go bad really quickly.
Couple that with running on the other bump--the stops of the suspension when you're outside the range of operation--and you end up driving a pretty unpredictable car.
