Default Name these parts.....

Yesterday I drained the oil to drop the engine out and found the following pieces on the sump plug magnet.

What do you think they are? Prize for the correct answer.....

Really sorry to hear that - finding chunks like this is not fun.

Its hard to tell - these are all metal pieces, right? The larger pieces almost look like the edge of a oil seal, the the middle one a piece of ring or something. The one to the right - its all twisted up?

You have shut down the engine right? What it running right before the oil change?

Cheers,

Mike

Car was running great, right up till I put it away back in October.... Hadn't started it since then, just drained the oil cold and found the parts...

Did Richard ever have an engine issue?

Seems like they are ring parts, but really odd hat it didn't smoke, I'll bring by my bore scope once you have the engine out and we'll have a look.

Sorry to hear about this Steven. It sounds like a good excuse for some some RS parts or perhaps a set of 9M heads

Richard didn't have any issues that I was aware of,i could check with Wade as he did most of the work on the cards it always went to the dealer.

The engine came out today, is is on the floor of the garage, we will chat and g the you over with the bore scope and have a good look before we crack it open...

Well I do have to start building my plans, rs or rsr parts are a possibility..... And increase in capacity with suitable adjustments to the heads etc will be on the cards.

I may be a little late to the game... but the answer is easy... they are $100 bills.

Looks like piston ring to me.

Someone one on the 964 board just went through this and it ended up being debris from a previous issue. $5000 later after taking the engine out and apart only to find no problem other than a couple tight valves.

There are only 5 of them - $1000 bills at least.

Sorry to hear, Steven.
