I was working on my Porsche last night and after my 5th Heineken I found what looked to be a broken piston ring in my front left pocket. Should I be concerned? Could it have found its way from my engine? Maybe I should switch to Coors light.

Heineken is not factory approved .
I suggest you get rid of the Heineken asap and refill with any from the Cannstatter Volksfest approved list and try again .

One last bit (literally): here's that blasted chunk of ring, whose extraction value is now known to be ~$5000:



Much better safe than sorry, of course, but man – this was the most expensive valve adjustment in modern memory.

Indeed. If I could convince my wife that 17 years is traditionally the "Cast Iron Anniversary," a channel setting would work nicely.
