Default 993 Litronic Deal Potential Group Buy

I have been longing for Litronics for my 993 for sometime. I recently found quite a few Litronic headlights which are brand new in the box. Apparently a distributor overseas ordered them by mistake and sold them at a loss. I have already ordered a set for myself and have verified that they are the real deal. I was thinking of putting together a group buy or a bulk purchase to help other fellow rennlisters. For reference list on a set of Litronics is over $4500. The retrofit kit is $4100 I can offer the lights for $1800 a pair! There is another $1150.00 in parts including the control units, brackets, cable adapter and hardware which is available through the dealer. With a total price of under 3K how many people would be interested in this upgrade opportunity? Let me know. Based on feedback I can negotiate a deal. 20 sets available.

Unless these are self leveling I can't see the point spending $3K on a retrofit when an aftermarket kit can be purchased with the same performance for around $50. In my mind the $3K is better spent on handling/suspension improvements.

Hi - I bought a pair of brand new lights with ignitors from a vendor on ebay for 1250 for the pair. I bought all the other little pieces (screws, brackets, wiring harness) for another 173 brand new from Sunset Porsche. I bought a pair of control units (the ballasts) for about 160 (they are available from various sellers and there is a lot of interchange with BMW and Mercedes cars of that era).

I haven't gotten around to installing but I can point people in the right direction, etc if they need help.

Got mine here
http://www.ddmtuning.com/Products/DD...ast-35W-or-55W

Went for the 35W (plenty bright enough and doesn't annoy oncoming traffic) and 5K lamps. The system has been trouble free for the past 18 months and the best money I've spent on the car without a doubt.

Get them from a dismantler. OEM is stupid expensive for what you get.

I'm sure Sunset will be cheaper, but Suncost has them listed for $3300 for everything from the dealer.

There are a number of sources for kits under $100 for HID upgrade.

Don't the factory installed litronics have automatic leveling? Do the retrofits have this feature too?

No, my 993 came with litronics from the factory and they still need to be leveled.
