Default Fabspeed Motorsport: 993 Maxflo Mufflers

Fabspeed Motorsport was founded in the early 90's when the owner developed exhaust and intake products for his 993 Carrera in a small shop. Fast forward to 2012, Fabspeed is now moving into a large 25,000 square foot facility, and the Maxflo exhaust product line covers most Porsche air/water cooled vehicles, modern Ferrari, Lamborghini, BMW, Maserati, and Bentley automobiles. Even with the introduction of these new Direct Injected Carreras and Turbos, Fabspeed still fabricates Maxflo products for the air-cooled automobiles.
The Maxflo Mufflers with Deluxe Tips for the 993 Carrera have been one of Fabspeed's best sellers for over 15 years now. This performance muffler set is a direct replacement for the OEM units, and they include the polished stainless steel tips for improved aesthetics. Since all Fabspeed Maxflo Mufflers are designed from the OEM specs, you can reuse your OEM tips for a stock appearance. For a more aggressive exhaust note and increase in power, install the Maxflo Mufflers with the high-flow Modular Sportcat/Catbypass pipes. The Maxflo Mufflers are in stock and ready to ship, please inquire within (P.M. or email joey@fabspeed.com ) for more information and special forum pricing.

Please clarify the 15 HP gain. Is this with mufflers only? What about the high flow sport cats?

What is the increase in HP for just the mufflers and what is the HP gain for just teh sport cats?

I was one of Fabspeed's first club racing customers back in 96 and Joe's 993 pieces are great. I have another 993 now with Supercup mufflers, and they really sound good.

Default I have....

X pipes, 200 cell cats and FD Motorsports Stage 1 mufflers. What an incredible combination. My car puts outs 252.4 HP to the rear wheels. Prior, with RSRs and stock cats it put out 238.9.

Unfortunately, I didn't put these mods on one at a time so I can't tell you where the HP gain came from...it's 13.5 HP and I'll take it....

Fabspeed has been a Rennlist sponsor for a long, long time, maybe since the beginning. It seems that every time the post to advertise their products, they get a 'torpedo"......this is so hard for me to understand since they have been so good to me over the years, great quality products and excellent customer service. Maybe they just like me because I am such a "peach".

+993

They do cut us deals on their stuff. I'm running their x-pipe and saved, because of offers like this.

Not to mention...by helping this forum, we save $$$ by learning how to avoid the "stealer"!

Nice to see Fabspeed back here. I've had my maxflos on my '95 993 for the past 10yrs, and I still love them. Best sounding, imho, and I've heard plenty of exhausts.

Nothing but good things to say here.

Come on, Martin; you've been here long enough to know the checkered history of this company. I am a Fabspeed customer (I have Supercups and have happily bought from the company), but there are often wild claims made for the performance benefits of their products. Here are just two links:

This thread is different in that we now have data. It's great to see Fabspeed post better horsepower and torque numbers for the Maxflo. However, am I the only one here who wonders why it's taken over ten years for these dyno figures to be posted for one of their core products? (Or in the time that I have been on this board, have I simply missed this validating test? It's definitely possible, sure.) Similarly, am I the only one here who yearns for an independent and unbiased test from a party who would receive no financial benefit from positive performance results?

For a more aggressive exhaust note and increase in power, install the Maxflo Mufflers with the high-flow Modular Sportcat/Catbypass pipes.

Porsche 993 Carrera Maxflo Mufflers
- Fit all Porsche 993 Carreras 1994-1998.
- +14HP to the wheels with power gained throughout the RPM band.
- Constructed from 14-16 gauge C.N.C. mandrel bent T304 stainless steel.
- Saves 15 lbs/6.8 kg from the rear of your Carrera.
- No Check Engine Lights and emission compliant.
- Connects to OEM catalytic converter or opt for Fabspeed's high-flow Modular system.
- System includes deluxe tips, or you can reuse your factory tips.

Can I assume the above chart is Maxflo Mufflers with the high-flow Modular Sportcat/Catbypass pipes?

How much louder is the exhaust with the sport cats and maxflos vs stock cats with maxflos? I have maxflos now and want the sport cats but I'm worried about failing noise limits at the track (some days the limit is as low as 91dB).

I like the sound of my maxflos but the tips stick out more than I'd like.
