No factory street legal RS's were officially brought into the US. A couple were imported as grey imports and then taken through the DOT titling quagmire. I would say near impossible to find a true RS in the US. At this point those that have them are probably going to keep them. They are definitely accruing assets. You could maybe find a 'tribute RS', but those are also very hard to find done right. GL with your search. I think luck is operative word here.

You are likely to have to pay over the odds to prise it out of the hands of the owners.

Yeah, depends on the definition of "right".......to paraphrase a past President. Cosmetic is easy. Mechanical? What are you really looking for? So happy to have my not-so-cosmetically-pure faux RS that has it all, and then some, in the driveline and chassis. When I've got that thing on a decent set of tires it's really amazing how capable the old guys are.
