Default My Carrera 4S and I

Hello everyone...just wanted to introduce myself formally to the board. My
name is Jakob and I'm SUPER obsessed with Porsches. LOL..that sounds so
ridiculous...but it's true! Been a member here since 2009, and recently became
a Porsche owner –*A real dream come true!

I bought my 97, black on cashmere, C4S in October '11 from a fellow R-
lister. Just in time to be put away for the winter here in Toronto, Canada.
Man, it's been so hard the last few months, knowing that the car of my dreams
is parked in the garage... and I can't drive it. And yes, I've gone there on
numerous occasions (read: daily), to pull the cover and admire it. Also spent
some time inside the car enjoying the characteristic 911 leather/oil aroma...
Cloud 9.

The countdown to April is definitely on.

In the meantime; I'm jumping head first down the "slippery slope", and have a list of
mods that will be done before the salt is gone! I decided to keep a blog to share
my experiences, as well as a youtube channel covering; DIYs, unboxings,
reviews, and cruising videos.

Here is the intro video my brother and I created: Subscribe to the channel!

I'll post some pics soon! Cheers!!

Nice job. I work as a TV producer and host and the camera work is very good. Has this been shot on a digital SLR. Canon 7D?

Very nice..I've always been shocked at just how...bad...993 videos generally are on YouTube. Looks like you're going to change that! Subscribed.

Very nice! I'm not in television, but I have watched a lot of it (and I have stayed at a Holiday Inn), and the quality looks very good. I always intend to document all of my work on the car, but when I get out to the garage my excitement and ADD kick in and I'm 3/4 done before I remember to take any pictures... I look forward to the next installment.

Welcome! Nice ride, you will find that there are quite a few 993's in the area.

So what are your plans?

Thanks for the welcome and kind words of encouragement!! There will be way
more video work posted in the future!! I can't take all the credit though; my
brother is also a producer for a major tv network here in Canada ~ so I'm very
lucky to be able to combine the love for this project with his love of producing
shows. And we get to hang out! Win/Win situation..

Plans for the car: I can't give out too many details, but in a nutshell: exhaust,
suspension, wheels and a few other mods here and there.. The plan is to keep
it very OEM+..so nothing crazy of the RWB variety..haha.. I'm also trying to
get everything done before April, so the pressure is on..Problem is I'm doing
more waiting than installing at the current moment; all the parts I ordered are
taking their sweet *** time to get to me.

@Cam! Definitely!! I just need to find some cross bars for those Thule feet! :P
But definitely will do a segment on the rack and "versatility" with these cars!
Hell, I might even get a Thule capsule and take the C4S camping this summer..
(errrp...maybe)..

@doberdog We shot the video using a Canon T2i which has the MagicLantern hack.

Anyway, thanks again for the warm welcome dudes!

Nice start to your ownership and I can tell you love the car and everything that comes with it.
If I may correct you a bit about your new 993, it's a PorschE, not Porsch. It sounds a bit off in your video.
BTW, it's very nicely done and I can't wait to see more pro vid's from you.

LB50 Bars...should be able to find them on Kijiji or Ebay. I'm waiting until I'm back in Dubai as the airline will kill me bringing those on...haha. I think they retail for $80 or so at a Thule dealer.

Was going to say the same. It's a two syllable word, think Porschah. It's not being snobbish to say it this way, it's the proper pronunciation. Very nicely done video, congrats on a great car and welcome.

1pcarnut and EckFe1:

Heh...I knew this was going to come up...I'll make sure to address that in future
videos and give you guys a shout out!! Canadians say "Porsch"...but we also say
"aboot" and "eh" a lot so I knew I was going to get a little friendly heat for it!
In my native country it would be pronounced "Porschah" as you'd like me to
say..Just sounds so odd when I say it.. It's noted! Thanks guys!
